I am a huge fan of the Polk Street Boxing gym! After both being a part of multiple boot camps and working out at individual classes, I have seen amazing physical results. In six short weeks, I feel fit and strong in a way I have never felt before. On top of fantastic results, this gym is also great at making the work-outs fun.
Simon, the instructor, makes the work-outs challenging so that you are always pushing yourself, but doing so safely. He is a great teacher because he focuses on building up endurance and on the finer points of the proper boxing techniques all at the same time. The training and attention you receive at this gym in invaluable and truly gets you results whether you are looking to become a serious boxer, just trying to pick up some boxing technique, aiming to do a fitness overhaul (like I was) or if you are just looking to do some toning and gain some definition. This is hands down (no pun intended) the best gym I have ever worked out at. Both the evening classes and the bootcamps are awesome. The full-body cardio boxing workouts will put you in great all-around shape and you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, from jabbing to jump-roping. The six-week bootcamps have been a highlight of my experience at the gym. Simon is an amazing trainer and skilled instructor who will teach you to box, whip you into shape, and make you push your limits every day.
The workouts include a wide variety of challenging exercises and drills that produce noticeable resultsweek-to-week. The top-notch trainer, intense workouts, and camaraderie of fellow bootcampers combine to create an unforgettable six weeks that I would highly recommend to anyone.

I lost a total of 45 pounds while I was enrolled in the boot camps at Polk Street Boxing Gym! The workouts are always intense and challenging, and to see a complete transformation (from a size 12 to a size 6) as my end result was a great confidence booster. I also felt, as a woman living in an urban environment, that it was helpful to learn a form of self-defense and always be prepared.
The long runs our camp went on ran through some of the most scenic and exciting parts of downtown San Francisco, and I made friends with a great community of people who were also enrolled in the program. There's nothing like the boot camps at Polk Street Boxing Gym and I have not found any workout program as effective and rigorous to this day.

I can’t say enough about the classes and boot camps at Polk Street. They’ve helped me get in by far the best shape of my life and I’ve enjoyed every minute. The instructors are so passionate about teaching their art that it’s not a job for them; they’re very patient and intent on you learning, yet still having a good time.
Attending my first Boot Camp in January of ’09 was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. If I can say anything bad about Polk Street, it’s that there’s a good chance you’ll get hooked and become as addicted as I am!

I have been involved in sports and physical exercise since I was twelve years old. From basketball practice to daily doubles, from the Army’s basic training to airborne school, and after six weeks of boxing boot camp I’m in just as good of shape as I’ve ever been in. Polk Street Gym is an amazing place to get in shape or take your fitness to the next level.
The trainers are knowledgeable and take a real no non-sense approach to the disciplines of boxing as well as cardiovascular and strength training. The workouts are quite varied and far from boring or predictable. I learned fundamental boxing techniques while strengthening my heart and lungs.
To say I am satisfied is an understatement. I encourage anyone to sign up for the boot camp or at the very least come and check out some classes. I will be back for many boot camps to come. Many thanks to Simon to and the rest of the staff at Polk Street Gym.
